Use of a Microwave Plasma Process at Atmospheric Pressure for Bacterial Inactivation without Thermal Effects

An atmospheric microwave plasma argon was used for the inactivation of bacteria E. coli. The employed device, called Axial Injection Torch (or TIA Torche à Axiale), consisted a power source, waveguide and gas supply system. Using this we studied effects exposure time, distance, input power, flow rate on reduction Escherichia coli cells. first part study carried out with static sample exposed to then in second set motion relative jet.
